Connect Hotel City

Overall 8

Fresh, cheap and modern

8

Great-value single and double rooms are available at this simple mid-range hotel towards the northern edge of Kungsholmen. If you want somewhere fresh, modern and cheap and don’t mind being a bit outside the centre, this is a good option.

At the bottom end of the scale are the hotel’s windowless ‘cabins’. These are fine for an overnight stay but might get a little claustrophobic if you’re staying for a longer time.

Larger rooms (there are a couple of different types to choose from) have windows and good-sized work desks, and generally feel a bit more spacious.

Connect Hotel City in Stockholm

The top-end ‘art’ rooms come with big beds, coffee- & tea-making facilities and wall designs from Stockholm-based Young Art, which supports emerging artists.

All of the rooms we looked at were comfy and clean, with parquet flooring, TV and an en-suite bathroom. Annoyingly, wifi access at Connect Hotel City costs an extra 100 SEK per day (charging anything at all is rare at hotels and hostels in Stockholm, let alone 100 SEK per day).

Breakfast (included) is served up in the bright and welcoming lobby area, where you’ll also find a bar. There’s not a great deal happening in the local area but the nearest tunnelbana station (Fridhemsplan) is just a ten-minute walk away and there are a couple of useful bus stations closer still.
