Just steps from Piteå’s main street, Skoogs City Hotell has comfy, very warm double rooms done up with wooden floors and furnishings. They’re a decent size and come with a desk, TV, and one or two plain black armchairs.
Single rooms are pretty much the same, just smaller, but you can get a bit of a discount if you go for one of the ‘budget’ alternatives. These are windowless and you’ll have to make your own bed on arrival (sheets are included).
The central location and free wifi make this place popular with business travellers but families are well catered for too – a couple of the rooms come with a double bed and a separate set of bunks.
Guests get to chill out in the hotel’s spa area, home to a big, bubbling hot tub. You can enjoy views over Piteå’s rooftops while you’re having a soak here.
The reception area at Skoogs is up on the first floor. Just nearby you’ll find the nice terrace-style dining room where breakfast is served up each morning.
This is undoubtedly a good part of town to base yourself in, close to plenty of shops and an easy stroll from the bus station. Rates are good too, but just be aware that prices for the standard single and double rooms go up considerably during the week.
