Located above a nail bar, this cheap, out-of-the-way hostel has four-, six- and 12-bed dorms arranged around a hook-shaped corridor.
Inside the rooms it’s as simple as it gets – metal framed bunk beds to sleep in and grey lockers to keep your valuables safe. Female-only dorms are available on request.
Apart from a couple of sofas at the top of the stairs, there’s not much in the way of space to socialise with other backpackers. Kitchen facilities are a bit limited, too, but you do get use of a microwave, a fridge and a kettle.
When we visited there was some useful tourist information available near the entrance, and the staff seemed happy to answer questions about the local area.
The nearest bus stop (Ansgariegatan) is just outside the door, though the services from here aren’t especially useful if you want to get to Gamla Stan or Norrmalm. For those, you’re better off walking to Zinkensdamm T-bana station, a five-minute walk to the east.
