Hostels by Nordic, Stockholm

This simple hostel’s location is hard to beat – it’s right on Drottninggatan in the commercial heart of the city, with loads of shops and restaurants nearby.

Unfortunately the sleeping spaces at Hostels by Nordic feel very cramped. In the six-bed dorm that we looked at, the bunks were so close together that they were almost touching.

Four-bed dorms are also available and feel a little more roomy, but they’re still not exactly brimming with space.

On the positive side, the hostel has its own self-catering kitchen and clean-ish shared bathrooms to freshen up in. Tea and coffee are supplied free of charge and, unusually for a Swedish hostel, bed linen is included in the price of a dorm bed.

Space for socialising here is pretty limited but the location is such that you’ll probably spend most of your time out and about anyway. If you need some encouragement to get out and explore, speak with the staff: they can help arrange moped hire and guided city walks.
