Pite Havsbad Resort

Hotel rooms, camping and cottages

7 Overall

Although it’s in a beautiful location with really easy access to a couple of the region’s nicest beaches, Pite Havsbad might not appeal to everyone.

This is a very popular holiday resort that, with its big indoor water park, kids’ activity centre and glitzy evening entertainment, is aimed squarely at Swedish families.

However, the sheer amount of beds here means that couples and solo travellers can often get reasonable deals – sometimes with breakfast and access to the onsite spa thrown in for free.

Pite Havsbad cottages

The cheapest hotel rooms here really aren’t anything special; they’re carpeted and come with box-shaped TVs and simple en-suite facilities. Pay a few hundred kronor extra and you can get a room with its own sauna, though if you’re already planning to use the resort’s pool and spa you might decide that’s overkill.

A cheaper alternative, if you’re here during the summer, is to opt for one of the resort’s cute red cottages. These are pretty basic but come with their own self-catering kitchens and can be hired out by the night.

Even the smallest cottages are big enough for a couple with two kids, or perhaps a small group of friends. Prices soar during the peak July–August period but otherwise rates are really good. Bigger, more luxurious bungalows are also available at the resort, some just steps from the beach.

The final (and cheapest) option is to camp at Pite Havsbad. Decent tent pitches can be found at the western end of the park with toilets, BBQs and kitchen facilities nearby. Caravan pitches are available with or without hook-ups for water and electricity.
