Done up like a beachside shack with surfboards hanging from the ceiling, this burger bar in central Malmö is the place to come for an injection of Americana. It’s cheap, fun and very popular with young families.
The burgers at Surf Shack come with loads of free toppings, allowing you to create your own wobbly tower of meat and bread, held together with a wooden skewer. Some of the more expensive, calorie-packed extras like bacon, avocado, eggs and blue cheese cost 10 SEK each.
Also on offer at Surf Shack Malmö are bacon-wrapped hot dogs, baby back ribs and healthy salads full of dates and walnuts.
Unfortunately the burger we got seemed a bit overcooked, but otherwise all of the ingredients were tasty and fresh. If we go back we’ll definitely be trying one of the ‘surf shakes’ which come spiked with Jack Daniel’s (on request, of course).
