We can’t help thinking that this Thai place near the train station feels a bit awkward. Which is a real shame, because the food is good value and pretty tasty too.
Located in the lobby of a hotel, Fusion by Jackie is open for lunch during the week and on Friday and Saturday evenings. You pay at the hotel’s front desk ahead of eating and then have to fetch your own cutlery.
There are a few different dishes to choose from each day. For around 90 SEK you get a curry with salad and rice, for example, and can make as many trips as you like to the self-service table running along one side of the restaurant – it’s stocked with fresh sourdough bread, water and coffee.
The chicken curry we ordered was flavoursome and packed with meat. It wasn’t the best Thai food we’ve had in Sweden but was a lot better than most places in the same price range. With a little bit more atmosphere, Fusion by Jackie could be really good. For now, it’s just okay.
