Lilla Kafferosteriet

Freshly roasted coffee

8 Overall

These days, lots of the cafés in and around Malmö’s main shopping district are part of nationwide chains. So it’s good to see Lilla Kafferosteriet – a cute, independent coffee shop – still pulling in plenty of customers.

The honey-coloured building dates back to the 1600s and has loads of snug corners where you can cosy up with a hot drink. In the summertime you can sit beneath parasols out on Baltzarsgatan, one of many pedestrianized streets in the city centre.

The café roasts its own coffee beans, some of which are sourced from a cooperative in Indonesia. Other beans come from as far afield as Peru, Guatemala and Brazil. Not into coffee? It’s still worth stopping by for a sandwich – the bread comes from local bakeries and the toppings change depending on the season.

If you’re in Malmö at the weekend, try Lilla Kafferosteriet’s breakfast buffet (served 10am–1pm on Saturday and 11am–2pm on Sunday). It’s 95 SEK per person and makes use of ingredients from around Skåne.
