StayAt Lund

Comfortable studios

8

A five-minute walk southeast of the cathedral in a lively part of town, StayAt has casual, comfortable studios for rent at reasonable prices. Even the smallest rooms are spacious and come with their own queen-sized bed, armchair, kitchenette, desk and dining table, making this a good choice for longer-term stays.

The in-room décor isn’t very inspiring but at least all the fixtures and fittings are fresh and modern, with crisp white sheets and flashes of cheerful colour brightening up the sleeping spaces. Tiled from floor to ceiling, the en-suite bathrooms are clean and tidy (and surprisingly big, too).

Guests who want a bit more space can opt for one of the superior studios but as they’re only about 10 sq m larger than the regular rooms, they’re not really worth the expense. Much bigger flats with a completely separate kitchen area and an extra bed are also available – handy if you have kids.

Breakfast is included with the rates here. It’s served downstairs in the lobby’s jolly dining area, which doubles as a place for guests to chill out during the day. There’s a huge map of Lund on one of the walls, which you can use to get your bearings when you first check in. There are a few shops and cafés close by but for the best selection it’s worth heading to the area between the station and the cathedral. It’s a pleasant walk, passing medieval buildings and some newer (but still rather wonky) houses along the way.

StayAt has its own sauna and gym, as well as a laundry room for washing any whiffy clothes you’ve had stashed in your suitcase. Bikes available. Discounts offered for longer stays.
