Right on Storgatan in the middle of Luleå, Roasters is a smart, bistro-style place that roasts its own coffee beans and does good-value lunches.
The basic filter coffee served here (bryggkaffe) is a little more expensive than equivalent stuff at other places in Luleå but it’s strong and tasty, and there are lots of nibbles available to go with it, like milk chocolate truffles.
Lunchtimes get busy with local office workers who are drawn in by the daily special (called dagens in Sweden), which costs 95 SEK.
There are always a few different mains to choose from, like chicken with roasted sweetcorn and potatoes, or steamed fish fillets with saffron risoni. Salad is laid out buffet-style for diners to help themselves, and coffee is also included in the price.
If you’re here during the evening there’s a well-stocked bar to work your way through. Evening meals make use of local, seasonal ingredients – main courses go for between 130–260 SEK.
