Supermarket – Stockholm Independent Art Fair is dedicated entirely to exhibiting work by artist-run spaces and initiatives from around the world.
The event, largely organised by artists, provides an invaluable platform for showcasing non-institutional art initiatives and displays a diverse range of innovative art projects that may not easily be seen elsewhere.
With exhibitors from more than 60 countries, it celebrates the global trend of artist-run galleries and collectives.
As well as the main exhibition, there’s a programme of public talks and sessions, with guest speakers and performers from Sweden and beyond.
Supermarket provides a rare opportunity to connect the public with the underground artist-run scene, and is a refreshing detour from more traditional, commercial art fairs.
