Oslo’s World Music Festival features music and acts from around the world including Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Music styles range from samba to Flamenco and West African harp music to 1980s zouk.
There’s a vibrant range of other activities to get involved with too, including art exhibitions and seminars on the plight of musicians in parts of the world where making truly expressive music can be tough for political reasons.
Top acts such as Portuguese fado singer Mariza have played here in the past, while the 2024 line-up includes Ethio-jazz legend Hailu Mergia, the French-Cameroonian Yamê and the Jordanian-Palestinian singer-songwriter Zeyne.
