While many festivals simply aim to entertain their audiences, Helsinki’s open-minded World Village Festival also wants to inform and inspire. And it has been doing so since 1995, although its roots spread back to 1980.
The 2025 theme is Peace and you can expect talks, discussions, speeches, documentary screenings and short films on subjects from the environment and sustainability to tackling injustice and avoiding conflict. But it’s not all serious.
Exciting musicians from across the world will be bringing the event to life with rhythms and tunes, while art shows, street art, exhibitors and street food will be adding a lot of flavours to the mix.
There will even be a separate children’s festival, although the organiser’s claim that many of the regular festival events will be suitable for younger generations too.
