Brunnsviken Bay in Stockholm is the venue for a magical night-time tradition. As darkness descends, locals gather to light up the night with torchlight processions, creating a mesmerising sight against the wintry landscape.

At 4 pm, processions start from different points and follow various routes around the shores of the bay.

You can join at Greta Arwindssons väg/Campus Albano and make your way towards the Kräftan Inn, or start at Confidencen/Ulriksdal’s Inn and process to Café Sjöstugan. There are also routes starting from Stallmästaregården, Haga Norra gates and Frösunda torg, all leading to Koppartälten.

And if you don’t have your own torch, don’t worry. They’re on sale at all the departure points.

You can join the locals by ending your torch-lit journey in Bellevue udde, Koppartälten, Café Sjöstugan or Värdhuset Kräftan, all of which provide a cosy atmosphere to wind down, with a warming drink and some local snacks.
