Head to Helsinki and help kick off the capital’s summer season of music festivals. Sideways Festival brings together an exciting line-up of both Finnish and international names – and it’s not just about the concerts.

This cosy boutique-style festival also focuses on art and, as the name suggests, on sideshows. Among these, you can enjoy unique acts such as animal karaoke, drag shows and arcade games from past decades.

Besides the almost 80 performances, festival-goers will be able to indulge in high-quality street food from around the Helsinki-area. And then wash it all down with a selection of delicious drinks.

These three days of fun will take place in the tongue-twisting Töölö neighbourhood northeast of the city centre, both in the open-air Eläintarha park and at the indoor Ice Hall.
