Metal fans gather in Oslo every Easter for the Inferno Metal Festival, one of the best and most extreme metal gatherings in the world.
The long-standing Inferno festival brings together local Norwegian bands and the best international metal acts to give the city four days of pure metal joy. All types of heavy music are represented at Inferno, from old school black and death metal to sludge, trash, and symphonic metal.
This year’s festival includes performances by Kampfar, Dimmu Borgir, At The Gates, Candlemass and Taake among many others.
Performances take place at the Rockefeller Music Hall in central Oslo. The venue has two stages – the main stage upstairs, and the John Dee stage below.
Every night the main stage has five acts while John Dee has four, so whenever you go there will be a wide variety of performances to choose from.
For all the details on band performances, times and stages, along with info on how to buy your tickets, check out Inferno’s website. Individual day passes go for NOK 990, while a full four-day pass is NOK 3,500.
