Set in one of the most scenic spots in all of Denmark, the Heartland Festival on the island of Fyn is a truly unique festival experience in Scandinavia.

This relatively new festival takes place in the atmospheric setting of the gardens and parks of Egeskov Castle, Europe’s best-preserved Renaissance castle.
You will, of course, find plenty of great concerts with big Danish and international performers, such as The Cardigans, Rufus Wainwright, Beck, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Femi Kuti – to mention but a few from the 2020 lineup. But Heartland is also much more.
There will be art installations around the festival area, inspiring talks on contemporary topics and a focus on gourmet food. Last 2020, Canadian star-chef David Zilber from the Copenhagen-based Noma restaurant was a source of inspiration.
Even the accommodation facilities are unique, and include the Hotel Heartland campsite with both cabins and boutique-style tents. Don’t miss this cultural highlight just a short drive from the island’s capital of Odense.
