Set in one of the most scenic spots in all of Denmark, the Heartland Festival on the island of Fyn is a truly unique festival experience in Scandinavia.
This relatively new festival takes place in the atmospheric setting of the gardens and parks of Egeskov Castle, Europe’s best-preserved Renaissance castle.
You will, of course, find plenty of great concerts with big Danish and international performers, such as Van Morrison, Rufus Wainwright, The Smashing Pumpkins, Brian Ferry, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Femi Kuti – to mention but a few who have played here. But Heartland is also much more.
It’s a festival of art, food and culture as well, with an emphasis on local and sustainable food. Top international artists and chefs come here to show their artistry and talk about their craft.
