Hi. I’m off to Stockholm on my own in late March, first time visit and first time ever using hostels! I was planning to go to City Backpackers, but as a mid 40s chap im wondering if the vibe might be a bit too young and partyish for me? I also like the idea of staying in a boat so Af Chapman looks tempting too (but maybe too quiet and out the way??). Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    Hi Danmb,

City Backpackers is actually pretty mixed and you’ll find that there are a lot of different ages there. You can change the overall experience quite a lot by choosing a different kind of room – the mixed ones do tend to be more popular with younger solo travellers!

Af Chapman is really nice and definitely in a quieter part of town, but it has great views to wake up to! Maybe try a night in each?
