Hello! We would like to come to the Stockholm Archipelago this summer. My husband, me and my young boys (6 & 8). Please can you advise an island where we can base ourselves where we can swim, row a boat, fish, visit other islands, eat out, see animals/nature, maybe historic and cultural things? Somewhere not too far to get to please. People also suggested flying to Copenhagen and driving to where we could hire a swedish private summer house? As you see I have no clue! A recommendation of an area we could base ourselves in a b&b/hotel/private rental would be amazing. thank you in advance! best wishes, Rachel

    Hi Rachel,

This guide has some ideas for the best islands to visit in the archipelago. You can find fun stuff for kids on almost all of the islands! It’s definitely better to fly to Stockholm if you’re keen to keep journey times down.

There are some nice tours of the islands too and you can also try a kayak trip like this one! How much time have you got to spend there?
