Nice B&B, Gothenburg – Routes North

Painted yellow, this traditional wooden house from the 1930s offers simple rooms – some with an en-suite bathroom, others without.

Nice B&B is only a ten-minute walk from the Liseberg theme park but sits in a leafy residential area, which means it’s nice and quiet at night.

There’s also easy parking – a rarity this close to the centre of Gothenburg.

Rates aren’t too bad, especially if you’re travelling solo and want a cheap-ish single room, but the interiors are dated and you may find similar prices at more modern places across town (at Le Mat, for example, or Slottsskogens).

Although some of the bedrooms are advertised as doubles on the hotel’s website , there aren’t actually any double beds. The choice is between twins (which can also be rented out as singles) and triples.

Breakfast is included in the room rates and served in an old-fashioned dining room just downstairs from the front door. When it’s sunny, you can relax in the B&B’s little garden. And when it snows, you can warm up in its sauna.
