If you have a taste for the Lindy Hop, Oslo will be a wonderland of jazzy tunes for you towards the end of February. Since 1996 the Norwegian capital has been hosting Winter Jump, a Lindy Hop festival, dedicated to the American jazz and swing style of dance, that originates from New York’s Harlem.
Born in the late 1920s, the dance became very popular in the 1930s and 1940s, and still today it’s danced and celebrated all over the world. That is why Winter Jump presents a line-up of international teachers from Spain, France and Italy, who will teach both regular classes and concept classes from beginners to advanced.
The festival will include four dance parties where participants can show off their skills and their brand new steps. Both the classes and the parties will take place in central venues, so you can combine it with exploring the city of Oslo too. Remember to register in good time and choose between the Party Pass, the Full Pass or individual parties. See the website for details.
