The Umeå European Film Festival was started to showcase contemporary European cinema and locally produced films.

Documentaries, children’s films, sing-along performances and films from new and up-and-coming directors are shown in cinemas around the town of Umeå. There are also film quizzes, workshops and seminars with directors and producers.

Tickets cost SEK 100–120 SEK per screening and can be purchased on the festival’s website. You can also purchase a ‘5-card’, valid for five film screenings, from the ticket desk at Folkets Bio Umea.
