The Tivoli amusement park, unmissable in the centre of Copenhagen – its rollercoasters come into view as you walk out of the central railway station – is a 170-year-old institution in the Danish capital.

As well as fairground rides, restaurants, a concert stage and the Hans Christian Anderson Hall, the Tivoli grounds also include over 100,000 sq m of flower beds, which are meticulously prepared for the summer opening of the pleasure gardens each year.

Visitors on the first day of the summer season can expect to be greeted by tens of thousands of tulips in bright yellows, oranges and pinks, along with a hyacinth field that is sure to fill the air with a springtime feel – the unpredictable Danish weather notwithstanding.
