What started as a small music festival back in 1988 has since developed into a bright light in the dark winters of northern Norway. Now in its 33rd year, this festival delves into everything from rap to classical music.
Nordlysfestivalen, as it’s called in Norwegian, will span 10 days from the end of January to the beginning of February, featuring more than 50 concerts at venues across downtown Tromsø, from Hålogaland Teater to Tromsø Cathedral.
The line-up this year will include the So Sweet is She and UngSy. You’ll also be able to catch several free lunchtime concerts by local students.
No actual festival pass is available for the Northern Lights Festival, so tickets have to be bought individually for each concert. Discounts are available for students and kids.
