Every winter the interior design world comes to Scandinavia. The Stockholm Furniture Fair is a massive week-long gathering showcasing the latest and greatest in home decor and is held at the same time as Stockholm Design Week.

This is no simple walk through Ikea. The furniture and lighting pieces showcased here are the latest developments in form and functionality from the world’s most renowned interior designers, and it’s no exaggeration to call some of the pieces exhibited here genuine works of art (with price tags to match).

In addition to the furniture and lighting displays, there are various competitions held for the most innovative and environmentally friendly designs.

And once you’ve seen the latest creations from the industry’s big names, you can have fun checking out the newest work from up-and-coming design students hoping to making a name from themselves in the international interior design industry.

Industry professionals and design students can attend on any day, but the general public can only check out the fair on Saturday, February 10th.  The fair is held at Stockholmsmässan, a large convention centre just 10 minutes from central Stockholm in the suburb of Älvsjö.
