For a whole week in August, Stockholm celebrates its richness and openness with a huge (and free!) cultural event that includes concerts, art shows, live performances and even a Finnish disco – whatever one of those is.
The festival takes place across central Stockholm, with events popping up on public squares like Gustav Adolfs Torg and Karl XII:s Torg, as well as on bridges such as Norrbro.
Expect rock, jazz and African beats, as well as city walks that focus on everything from photography and sculpture to graffiti and architecture. Needless to say, there are plenty of alternative and interesting ways for visitors to experience the city.
Film showings, literature events and yoga sessions are also included in the wide-ranging offer of activities and events. Kids are also well catered for with games, activities and entertainment. All of the events are free to attend, with the exception of the guided walks.
