It’s the hedonistic peak of many a young Scandinavian’s summer and a major player in Danish youth culture. Roskilde Festival, the biggest open-air music event in northern Europe, is back for its 2019 edition with a strong, strong line-up.
The musical billing for 2019 is up there with other impressive line ups in recent years. Acts run the gamut from Bob Dylan to Skepta, Christina and the Queens to Tears for Fears. Headliners include the likes of The Cure, Robert Plant, Underworld and Cardi B.
True to Roskilde tradition, the camping area is opened on Saturday 29th June so that keen festival goers can find a good camping spot and soak up the atmosphere before the music begins in earnest on Wednesday 3rd July.
Spending a week or just a day on Roskilde’s sprawling festival ground, with its many food stands, events and activities (designed to create a sense of community among the guests), is a unique and often formative experience for music lovers of any age. We think you’ll love it.
One-day tickets cost 1050 DKK; the full festival experience costs 2100 DKK.
