Animated movies go far beyond children’s stories and the art form of animation is celebrated at the ReAnima International Animation Festival in Bergen. Spanning four days in November, it hosts screenings of more than 100 animated movies of all genres.
The festival includes great Norwegian productions as well as foreign animation art ranging from the traditional to conceptual and experimental.
ReAnima features plenty of international competition for its awards, with the main focus on the prestigious awards such as Best Experimental, Best Music Video, Best Scandinavian and the ReAnima Kids Award, to mention just a few.
Last year’s festival also featured a range of exciting events besides the film screenings, such as performance art, visual lectures, debates, art exhibitions and festival parties. Check out this year’s programme on the festival website.
