If you’re looking for a hot date, look no further than September 14th. That’s when the first Olso Pepper Expo takes place in the Norwegian capital.
Held in Mathallen just north of the city centre, it’s a festival dedicated to the chilli, and the organisers are planning a whole bunch of mouth-flaming elements to spice things up.
There will be chilli plants for sale, child-friendly chillies, plenty of hot snacks and, of course, spicy food from a range of vendors and restaurants.
But the sweat-provoking hotness doesn’t stop at the tip of the tongue – they’re also planning peppery events like chilli-eating contests, chilli meditations and chilli karaoke where contestants will try their luck at singing after feasting on fiery chillies.
Although they can’t promise a line-up featuring the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, music will be part of the programme too, as will the first Norwegian chilli-eating championship – possibly hosted by the Danish expert in the field, known as Chili Klaus.
The event will be mainly be focused on Norwegian grown chillies, and whether you’ve got brave taste buds or not, this festival promises to be full of flavour.
