Kulturhavn Festival is a fun community cultural festival held by the waterfront in Copenhagen every year towards the end of August. The festival features nearly 100 different activities and cultural performances – and all of them are free.
Dance workshops and musical acts will get you up and moving, while the multitude of sports activities both on and off the water – from kayaking and basketball to fencing – will keep you active all day. There are arts and crafts activities for the kids, too, so you can expect a friendly atmosphere all around.
The events are spread throughout the harbour area at Islands Brygge, and part of the fun of Kulturhavn is hopping on a boat and enjoying the sea air as you head from one part of the harbour front to the next.
All transport around the harbour is free, so you can move around as much as you want without damaging your bank balance. If the sun’s shining, make time for a dip at nearby Havnebadet – it’s a lovely spot for a summer swim.
