With the idealistic theme ‘Beautiful World’, the International Grand Markets are once again touring Finland from May to September.
This mainly gastronomic market is set to visit no less than 17 Finnish cities before ending up in Helsinki from 13–22 September. The tour takes it through cities such as Tampere, Turku and Oulu – and even up north to Santa’s hometown, Rovaniemi.
This travelling buffet of scents and flavours is achieved courtesy of well over 100 merchants from 35 different countries. And while most of the flavours reaching Helsinki come from different corners of Europe, far-flung continents like Asia and America will also be represented.
So don’t miss the chance to browse through a cornucopia of cheeses, cakes, pastries, wines and candies, as well as non-edible temptations like clothes, jewellery and flowers.
In 2018, the market’s tour around the country attracted more than 1.5 million visitors in total, making it Finland’s biggest public event. This year it will once again provide an opportunity for the locals and visitors to Helsinki to “travel the world” via their taste buds.
