Held out on the eastern edge of Oslo at Grorud Park, the Granittrock Festival is a large, colourful rock festival featuring some of the biggest bands in Norway, and the whole thing is absolutely free to attend.
In recent years artists have included Seigmen, Gilli, Honningbarna, Arif, and hometown metal duo Golden Core. If you’re not familiar with the Norwegian rock scene, then Granittrock is a great chance for you to discover new and upcoming artists.
There’s no age limit to attend, and organisers emphasise that the festival should be a positive environment for people of all ages – the aim is for it to be a completely alcohol- and substance-free event.
Grorud Park is easily accessible by public transport and can be reached from central Oslo in just 30 minutes, so head on down for a free, all-you-can-eat feast of Norwegian rock and metal.
