These days, most big Scandinavian cities put on culture nights once or twice a year to get everyone together and encourage a bit of cultural cohesion.
Gothenburg is no exception and on October 13th many of its museums, churches, studios, galleries, and schools will throw open their doors for everyone who wants to visit.
Besides offering a unique chance to wander inside many of the city’s finest buildings, Gothenburg Culture Night will also let visitors and locals enjoy host of concerts, performances, exhibitions and workshops.
With activities ranging from choir performances at the city’s churches to exhibitions of the latest in local art and photography, there’s a bit of something for everyone. You can also expect special flea markets, dance sessions, light shows and guided tours.
The complete program for Culture Night will be available on the official website in early September, so check back then to see all the activities and events that will be taking place. While all of the events are free, some may require a booking or have limited entry – be sure to plan ahead and look over the Culture Night program before heading out that evening to ensure you get a space!
