The Swedes are certainly a musical lot. If you’ve ever sat around a table with Swedish friends at Midsummer or a crayfish party, you’ll know how much they enjoy exercising their musical talents.
Sweden has also produced some of the world’s biggest pop music stars and producers, but their musical abilities also extend to the more serious classical genre. The Glafsfjordens Music Festival is a three-day celebration of classical chamber music held in Arvika in Sweden’s Värmland region.
Live concerts, dance performances and masterclasses with some of the festival’s artists will be held during the festival. The artists are some of the top classical musicians in Sweden and abroad – past visitors include Swedish violist Ellen Nisbeth, Stockholm-based singer/composer Katarina Henryson and singer/producer Björn Forsberg.
Price information is yet to be announced but you can keep tabs on what’s happening on the festival’s Facebook page.
