Culture Night is Copenhagen’s all-signing, all-dancing introduction to the autumn season, when all the city’s cultural institutions open their doors for one long night of art, exhibitions, and performances.

Running from 6pm to midnight, the city-wide event sees local churches offering free concerts, while others will host lantern-lit guided tours of the churches and their crypts. Several historical ships will be open to the public, as will the Art Academy’s School of Architecture, Design, and Conservation, where you can grab a hot meal and explore their campus on the site of the city’s old wharfs.

If you’re looking for a calming evening, then head over to the Center for Tibetan Buddhism or the Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School, both of which will be offering free courses. (There’s more on doing yoga in Copenhagen in this guide).

All events require a ‘Culture Pass’ to enter, which can be purchased at any 7-Eleven store for 95 DKK. The Culture Pass also covers all transportation use in the capital and its surrounds from 5pm on the 13th to around 5am on the 14th. The pass goes on sale October 2nd. Kids under 12 go free.
