A country known for its striking design, Denmark now has an architecture festival to display its talents for all the world to see.

Architecture in Copenhagen

Boasting names like Jørn Utzon, designer of the Sydney Opera House, and Arne Jacobsen, best known for his iconic chairs, Danish architecture and design comes with a hefty pedigree. The Copenhagen Architecture Festival, founded in 2014, aims to highlight the country’s architectural talents by showing how they affect everyday lives – and how everyday life affects architecture.

The programme includes exhibitions, conferences, a launch party, film screenings and lectures. Themes include community, sound and space, as well as Copenhagen as a sustainable city. You can buy a festival wristband which gives you entrance to all the festivals events at its various venues for a reduced price or for free.

Wherever you are in Denmark, keep an eye on the programme via the festival’s website – events also take place in Aarhus and Aalborg during its multi-day run.
