While the Danes and their fellow Scandinavians are mostly known for their love of black and salty liquorice, everyone simply loves chocolate too, and in Copenhagen, they have a festival entirely dedicated it.
The Chocolate Festival takes place over two days in early March, where it unites some of Denmark’s most popular chocolate producers and retailers under one roof. It all happens at a former distillery on Amager, which has been converted into a unique venue with an industrial feel.
Here you will find lectures, tasting sessions and even chocolate massages (!), as well as a demo kitchen where professional chocolatiers will run workshops for both children and adults – free to join, as soon as the entrance fee is paid.
A large number of beloved Danish chocolate brands will be present, such as Summerbird, Sv. Michelsen and Odense Marcipan, just to mention a few. The really good news is that you’ll have a few ‘tasting tokens’ included with your ticket.
