Imagine a giant game of ice hockey, played on a rink the size of a football field, with 11 players on each team. That’s bandy.
Bandy is one of Sweden’s most popular sports, and this year’s national finals (including the junior finals) will be played at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm at the end of March.
Due to the cold conditions in which it is played, the sport is challenging for spectators as well as participants – so come well prepared. Swedish fans often attend games armed with what’s known as a ‘bandy briefcase’: a bag containing a thermos of coffee, preferably spiked with snaps.
The junior finals are scheduled for Friday 24th while the senior men’s and women’s finals will be played on the 25th. Discounts are available for multiple tickets.
