For almost 30 years, Aarhus has spent a week of every summer immersing itself in a music festival with all types of jazz represented. This year is no exception.
Aarhus Jazz Festival sees large parts of Denmark’s second-biggest city filled with chilled jazz vibes and a summery atmosphere, with jazz concerts taking place at venues, cafés, museums, churches and on street corners and town squares.
In recent years, the programme has included world famous singer Jamie Cullum as well as the popular big band Aarhus City Orchestra. This year Gregory Porter and Marcus Miller are headlining. Many concerts are within walking distance of each other and entry is often free, particularly at daytime events, making this a great time to stroll through the city enjoying a drink or two.
The full programme is available on the festival’s website.
