Want to feel the wind rush in your hair as you fly through the streets of Gothenburg on two wheels? Or maybe you’d rather take a back seat and just watch the action during an extraordinary three-day city cycle race? Either way, Göteborgs Girot has you covered.
A cycling event with something to offer participants of all levels and ages, Göteborgs Girot is split up into several different events, including a 1.1km sprint and a 5km children’s grand prix, plus 35 km, 70km and 140km races.
The organisers describe the event as a ‘colour explosion of a party for the people that welcomes all cycle enthusiasts in one place and links the different parts of the city at the same time’. With that kind of enthusiasm it’s hard not to feel like getting on a saddle and peddling to Sweden’s second city to see what all the fuss is about.
Prices for participants vary according to race distance and registration is via the Göteborgs Girot website.
